Whatever your reason for visiting Fiji, find your ultimate island retreat at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay. So, did it live up to the hype? It exceeded the hype!
Start us off with an overview.
Goddamn this place is special. From the moment you step foot in the lobby, you know you're going to have an amazing stay. MJ and I were there for a wedding and even though we arrived late at night, the resort was lit up beautifully and we knew it would be spectacular in the daylight.

This 5-star resort is on the western coast of Viti Levu in Momi Bay, just under an hour's drive from Nadi airport. It’s private, it’s huge, and it’s absolutely beautiful. The staff are friendly, saying “bula” with a big smile every time they see you. The accommodation is spread out across the resort, around the lagoons and there is a range of choices depending on your budget and need. We stayed in a hotel room near the pool and restaurant but there are also over the water" lagoon bures, adults only bures, and ocean view bures.
We stayed at the resort the whole time enjoying many of the activities on offer. They cater for everyone whether it's through their water activities at the pool or in the lagoon, the onsite gym, spa or infinity pool. They also have a jetty where you can be picked up to go and explore other Fiji attractions.
Breakfast was included with our accommodation and it’s hands down the best buffet breakfast I’ve ever had. The selection is huge, but you can also choose different cuisines to choose from, there’s an omelet station, and of course mimosas! The restaurant is over the water with views of the lagoon. It really is magic.
What’s the crowd like?
A real mix of people. Lots of international travelers, families with older kids or babies, older couples, groups like our wedding party, and singles. It feels like most people are holidaying but I know it’s a popular spot for conference and work trips. It has something for everyone so it’s obviously a popular choice for people.

The good stuff: Tell us about the room.
Our room was great. A twin room upstairs with a view of the lagoon. It was near the main pool and one of the restaurants, really handy to reception and the gym and spa. It was well serviced and had a lovely balcony with a drying rack for towels and swimwear. Big TV, nice bath, robes and slippers. Everything we needed, and also the cutest towel animals on the bed each day!

Are there any good restaurant, café, and drink options on site?
Yep, everything you need is available at the resort. It’s quite isolated so there’s not many other options outside of the resort. We mostly ate at the Goji Kitchen & Bar and the Lagoon House & Bar.
There’s also the Fish Bar restaurant with its 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and Voi Voi Bar that serves Fiji-style BBQ and other comfort food. I drank a lot of the local beer, Fiji Gold but there are plenty of cocktails and other drink options at all the eateries.
If you've brought duty free with you, you’ll want to either bring your mixers or pick them up from a supermarket or shop on the way to the resort. You can buy mixers from the shop onsite, but they are pricey.

Bottom line: worth it, and why?
The setting alone is a huge draw, but put that together with the 5 star service, the friendly staff, the beautiful food, incredible weather, the sunsets, and all the things to do, the Marriott in Momi Bay offers a luxurious, memorable stay. Just have a look at their website and you’ll know what I mean.
